MFI Out Of A Box (MFIOOAB) is an attempt to address a broad range of topics on the professional management of various types of microfinance institutions. It is designed to be of direct and practical relevance for nascent microfinance institutions.
Many new entrants are coming into the field of microfinance and this series is designed to provide the basic tools that are required to start a new MFI. It provides a complete set of templates, samples, processes and also the various manuals that are needed to run an effective, sustainable and rapidly scalable microfinance institution.
The MFIOOAB is divided into three components encompassing all the three common microfinance operating models practiced in India. The first component is for Joint Liability Group (JLG) based microfinance institutions; the second is for Self Help Group (SHG) based systems and third is for those microfinance institutions who want to get into making the transition to Individual Lending (IL). Apart from the various templates, samples and documents, MFIOOAB also has videos depicting, in detail, the various processes under each of these three models.
The MFIOOAB is developed with support from RBS Foundation India.
