Akhand completed graduation in Physics and Computer Science from Ewing Christian College, Allahabad. After graduation, Akhand completed MBA from Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal with microfinance, environment impact assessment and advanced data analysis as elective and audit courses.
Before joining MicroSave, Akhand worked with Centre for Micro Finance, at IFMR, Chennai. He worked on rural credit impact evaluation project with Sonata, an MFI based out of Allahabad, UP. He also worked on short term studies and published papers on acquisition and client understanding of loan contracts.
Since joining MicroSave Akhand has conducted a series of institutional reviews as well as market research assignments to assess the demand for savings services, agent networks and client use of e-/m-banking systems, as well as an analysis of poor people's willingness to pay for savings services and pricing options for e-/m-banking systems. His area of interest includes policy research and advocacy, financial management, governance, strategic planning and product development.
